Technical Skills:

Posture:            How the body and spine are held

Alignment:         Placement and position of limbs of the body
Co-ordination:    Ability to move more than one body                                   part together fluidly in dance
Balance:           Ability to hold a position without moving

Strength:         Use of muscles to control actions / positions
Flexibility:        How far joints can be extended or moved

Core stability:   Strength in the body's centre

Control:          Ability to execute movements fluidly & safely

Stamina:       Ability to dance for prolonged amount of time                              without losing energy or power.

 

 

 

*Safe Practice

Execution of movements; Clothing,
Jewellery, Hair, Footwear, Space.

Injury prevention: warm-up cool-down

Hydration, Diet...

 

Expressive Skills:

Focus:           Where the eye line is held

Projection:      The energy put into the quality & clarity of  movements
Musicality:       How music is used- sensitivity, mood, style, rhythm,

Dynamics:      How movement is performed; in power, speed, weight, level...

Sense of style:  Demonstrating distinctive actions & dynamics related to style

Communication of Choreographic intent: Sensitivity and understanding of the mood and meaning of the dance and communicating this to the audience
