Choosing music for your choreogaphy

You have been original and creative in coming up wth your own stimulus and motif so now you need to find the perfect accompaniment for your choreography.

Remember this choreography is not for a music video, film or television award show!

It is better not to use music with lyrics as they will distract from the choreography.

Listening to sound tracks to films or adverts which may have a similar mood to your stimulus is a good place to start, or you could use instrumental versions of songs which you feel have the right dynamics for your choreography but are not too obvious.

You could even compose your own music.

Try not to use music which is well known or which has been used before.
